From Nervous to Empowered
When I first walked into the conference hall of FWWMUN Abu Dhabi, I was so nervous and rightfully so. It was only my second-ever Model United Nations conference, and despite my passion for international affairs, public speaking, and diplomacy, the anxiety of stepping into such a formal and high-level environment was very real.
But what I didn't expect was how fast that nervousness would melt away. From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a space full of bright, kind, and driven students from all over the world.
Each conversation was a window into a new culture, a different worldview, and a unique personal story.
I met delegates who were not only well, prepared and insightful, but also incredibly supportive and easy to connect with, whether we were debating resolutions or simply sharing snacks during breaks.

Diplomacy, Discovery, and the Desire to Return
What struck me the most was how deeply I was able to immerse myself in the country I was representing. Researching its history, political stance, and international priorities gave me a new appreciation for diplomacy and policy-making. The beauty of MUN is that it pushes you to think beyond your own borders, to speak not just for yourself, but for a nation, a people, and sometimes, a cause greater than you. FWWMUN made that experience feel not only real, but meaningful. Participating in this conference strengthened my public speaking skills, broadened my cultural understanding, and most importantly,
helped me find confidence in my own voice as a young delegate. It was more than a simulation, it was a celebration of global citizenship and youth leadership.
I would absolutely love to participate in FWWMUN again, and I hope to continue working with the team behind it. The conference left a mark on me, not just as a student, but as a future changemaker.
To anvone hesitant about joining their first or second MUN conference, go for it. You never know how much you'll grow.
